Merhaba arkadaşlar! 7. Sınıf İngilizce dersimizin ikinci ünitesi olan ‘Biographies’, geçmişte yaşamış veya hala yaşayan önemli kişilerin hayat hikayelerini anlatmayı öğrenmemizi sağlar. Bu ünitede temel odak noktamız Simple Past Tense (Geçmiş Zaman) yapısıdır.
Simple Past Tense Nedir?
Geçmişte başlayıp bitmiş eylemleri anlatmak için kullanılır. İngilizcede fiilleri ikiye ayırırız: Regular (Düzenli) ve Irregular (Düzensiz) fiiller.
- Düzenli Fiiller: Fiilin sonuna ‘-ed’, ‘-d’ veya ‘-ied’ takıları getirilir. Örneğin: play -> played, study -> studied.
- Düzensiz Fiiller: Bu fiillerin geçmiş zaman halleri tamamen değişebilir ve ezberlenmelidir. Örneğin: go -> went, eat -> ate, have -> had.
Olumsuz Cümleler ve Sorular: Olumsuz cümle kurarken fiilin yalın halini kullanır ve başına ‘didn’t’ getiririz. Soru sorarken ise cümlenin başına ‘Did’ yardımcı fiilini koyarız. Unutmayın, ‘didn’t’ veya ‘did’ kullandığınızda fiil her zaman yalın haldedir. Örnek: ‘She didn’t go to school’ (Okula gitmedi).
Biyografi Yazarken Dikkat Edilmesi Gerekenler
Bir kişinin hayatını anlatırken şu kronolojik bilgileri vermek önemlidir:
- Doğum Tarihi ve Yeri: ‘He/She was born in…’
- Eğitim Hayatı: ‘He/She graduated from…’
- Başarılar ve Meslek: ‘He/She became a famous scientist…’
- Ölüm Tarihi (eğer vefat ettiyse): ‘He/She died in…’
Örnek Cümleler:
- Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born in 1881.
- He founded the Turkish Republic in 1923.
- Did you read his biography? Yes, I did.
İpucu: Biyografi metinlerinde ‘when’ (zaman belirteçleri) ve ‘in, on, at’ gibi zaman edatlarını kullanmaya özen gösterin. Örneğin yılları belirtirken ‘in 1990’, tam tarihleri belirtirken ‘on May 19th’ kullanırız.
