Merhaba sevgili öğrenciler! Bugün İngilizcede geleceğe dair planlarımızı, tahminlerimizi ve niyetlerimizi nasıl ifade edeceğimizi öğreneceğiz. İngilizcede gelecek zaman denince akla gelen en temel yapı ‘will’dir. Gelecekte gerçekleşeceğini düşündüğümüz olaylar veya gelecekle ilgili tahminlerimiz için bu yapıyı kullanırız.
Will Kullanımı ve Cümle Yapısı
Gelecek zamanı ifade ederken ‘will’ yardımcı fiili tüm öznelerle (I, you, he, she, it, we, they) aynı şekilde kullanılır. Cümle kurarken dikkat etmemiz gereken formül şöyledir:
- Olumlu Cümle: Özne + will + fiil (yalın halde) + nesne/zaman ifadesi. (Örnek: I will be a doctor in the future. – Gelecekte doktor olacağım.)
- Olumsuz Cümle: Özne + will not (won’t) + fiil (yalın halde). (Örnek: People won’t live on Mars soon. – İnsanlar yakında Mars’ta yaşamayacak.)
- Soru Cümlesi: Will + özne + fiil? (Örnek: Will you travel to space? – Uzaya seyahat edecek misin?)
Geleceğe Dair Tahminler
Gelecek hakkında kesin olmayan tahminlerde bulunurken ‘I think’ (sanırım/düşünüyorum) veya ‘I hope’ (umarım) ifadelerini sıkça kullanırız. Örneğin; ‘I think robots will do the housework’ (Sanırım ev işlerini robotlar yapacak) cümlesi, geleceğe dair yaygın bir tahmindir.
Zaman İfadeleri
Gelecek zaman cümlelerinde genellikle cümlenin sonuna zaman belirten ifadeler ekleriz. Bunlar:
- In the future: Gelecekte
- Next year/month/week: Gelecek yıl/ay/hafta
- Tomorrow: Yarın
- Soon: Yakında
Önemli İpucu: Unutmayın, ‘will’ yapısından sonra gelen fiil her zaman yalın haldedir; yani fiile -s, -ed veya -ing gibi herhangi bir ek gelmez. Örneğin; ‘He will goes’ demek yanlıştır, doğrusu ‘He will go’ şeklinde olmalıdır.
